Our Mission and Passion for Postal History. We love the past and ...
create the postal historian of the future!

We are pleased to announce the establishment of the International Postal History Library & James van der Linden Postal History research center (IPHL), a foundation with ca. 200m2 space solely and exclusively filled with “postal history worldwide”.  From ca. 1400’s up to modern times.

Both initiatives are thanks to the dedication, vision, and love of postal history of Pol Wijnants.  Without his dedication and hard work, this wonderful initiative would not even exist. This, together with the support of various people inside and outside of philately to promote, support and advance postal history (see P&P page for more info).

The James Van der Linden Postal History Research Center is a tribute to James Van der Linden, undoubtedly the greatest postal historian in the world of philately.  His articles, studies, and books testify to his incredible knowledge of postal history and his unparalleled drive as a researcher.  No matter how old some of his articles may be, they are still highly relevant today and an indispensable source for any postal historian.

In ca. 200 running meters bookshelf space, postal historians can consult + 3700 books, studies, magazine series, specialized postal history auction catalogs, award-winning collections, … about almost any country or area..

Our meeting room can accomodate 40 people and can be rented by study circles.  Contact us for more info.

Our Logo

Our logo is a design of the Belgian graphic artist Ann-Tinne Vereeck (www.https://www.belgian-art-gallery.be/anne-tine-vereeck/), living in Gent.  She had exhibitions in Belgium and abroad.

In 1996 she also designed the phantastic jugendstil poster for the 200th anniversary of Begijnendijk.  Also the James van der Linden medal is a design she made.
